Cards Classes at Scrappy Hollow

This week was my last week of cards classes for 2013 at Scrappy Hollow.  I have so enjoyed teaching classes this year and continuing on the many friendships with the ladies and loved welcoming some new ladies to the group as well.  Thank you to everyone who has supported my crafting pursuits this year - I am so thankful for your support and just LOVE teaching you all.

For my last class we make a mystery project that is only revealed on the night of the class and generally we make something other than a card.  This year we made a layered Christmas decoration and matching gift bag.  Here is what we made:

And here are some close ups of the different sections of the decoration and bag.

This project was so much fun to design and I hope everyone enjoyed the class as much as I did.
As a little thank you from me I also made everyone a decorated bag with a handmade button card inside.  This is how they came out - I was really happy with the design and had heaps of fun die cutting and piecing all the elements together.

I am lucky enough to be returning to Scrappy Hollow in 2014 to run more card making classes (YIPEEEEE!!!!!) and I am so looking forward to heading our creative talents in a different direction.  Each class will focus on an inspirational element and then also cover some new techniques or elements that we have not used in previous classes.  I am even putting down my edge distressor and ink for many of the classes which those of you who know my work is a HUGE challenge for me but I am hoping the ladies will enjoy the "new" Leanne style cards.  Knowing me though some inking and distressing will sneak in from time to time just to feed my passionate addiction to all things shabby but chic.

So my February Class is inspired by love as February is the month of love with Valentine's Day on the 14th.  In the class you will also learn how to:

· Use MFT inset dies and peek a boo dies to create  card backgrounds
· Create a shaker card using MFT insta frame die
· Make hand stitched embellishments with MFT layered heart die
· Use pearls, sequins and punched confetti to add scattered accents on cards
· Create dainty paper bows
· Create a wrapped twine wreath to highlight embellishments
· Different ways to mount card onto the card base

And here is a snippet of what we will create ( the samples are on display at Scrappy Hollow too).

With classes and Design Team assignments over for the year I hope to have a little time to play along with some of my favourite card challenge blogs so hopwfully I'll be back blogging again soon with some new card creations.

Thank for stopping by!

Leanne

Classes at Scrapppy Hollow

Wow that time has come again when I get to share my monthly class creations.  I am running a little late this month with the share - life has been a bit hectic of late but I am happy to say things are slowing down a little as formal classes and design team commitments are just about over for 2013.

So here is what we created in class last week - once again thank you to everyone who came, I appreciate your support and love helping you along your creative card making journey.  Teaching you is so much fun!

We started with the card which I loved as it used the very cute postcard tag from the St Nicholas collection.  This month we also had a focus on bows.  There were four different methods of tying or creating bows incorporated into the class.

We then made two different styles of tags.

And finished off making this cute gift bag and peg.

Paper Collection:
Kaisercraft St Nicholas

Punches:
MS Branch M230367
MS Heart punch M283020
MU Purple Circle punch
Carl mini heart

Embossing Folder:
Craft Concepts -  In Stitches embossing folder

MFT Dies:
MFT mini tab foursome

This was the last formal class for 2013.  My November class is a class reserved for my "frequent flyer" ladies and I am very excited to be making a unique Christmas creation with them in November.  There are no sneak peeks to share of this class as part of the fun for me is keeping the project a secret!

I am also excited to announce that I have been asked to continue teaching classes at Scrappy Hollow in 2014!  I will be back after my November class to share my sneak peeks of my first 2014 class with you all.  2014 will see a few changes to my class format and inspiration. I am really working hard to plan classes focussing on things that inspire card makers and also on featuring products, techniques and tools that are key elements card creating.  So the year will be full of classes that are either inspired by ???? or focus on creating with ????.  I am looking forward to sharing my ideas and plans with you in November. So please stay tuned!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
