May Cards at Scrappy Hollow

I have had an extremely busy month again so I apologise for not posting my usual card challenges.  I am working with a scrapbooking company on some design projects that I can't wait to share with you later in the year!!!  I did however, have an awesome time in my latest cards class at Scrappy Hollow . We used the lovely Graphic 45 Little Darlings range.  I fell in love with it and so did many of our customers as we just cant seem to keep enough of it on the shelves.

iSpy Sketch ISSC13

Just wanted to share the latest sketch challenge from  the iSpy sketch team.  I have not been able to play along for a few weeks but with things getting back to normal around home and the challenge deadlines being changed I found this week was the perfect time to play along again. Thanks to the iSpy team and the featured designer - Dawn Mercedes for the inspiration!



And this is the card I created -

The papers were from My Minds Eye and Die Cuts with a View.

I teamed them up with Bazzill cardstock, seam binding, MFT dies, Green Tara buds and a vintage brad from Stampin Up.

The rolled mini roses were die cut from fabric. I just can't stop making these gorgeous little flowers! I also used the left over wire from the buds by curling it and adding it to the flower spray.  The stamp was from the "Tag You're It" MFT set.

The vintage brad was added to the seam binding bow together with some vintage twine.

This is the card standing up - so you can see the dimensional layers created by the flowers and other embellishments.

Mojo Monday 239 - 80 Happy Birthday

I was excited to head over to the Mojo Monday challenge this week, as I knew it was the last one for the month of may, which meant it would be a round or square challenge.  I absolutely love making round cards so of course you can guess which sketch I followed.  Here they are

I still had one more 80th card to make for a friends mum so I have incorporated that into the design as well. Here is the card I made -

The papers were from the Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two range which I really love and the card base was from Archiver's Your Truly stationary that I picked up when I worked for them in America.

On the bow I added some  Kaisercraft flowers and vintage twine.  You can also see the hand stitching which went around the card and across the central banner section.  I then added some pearl detail with Kaisercraft pearls.  The lace was from my stash.

I decided to move away from the square tag embellishment and use an MFT doily (yes- my fav's again!!) and then I added a fishtail banner to the centre of the tag.  Using rubons, I was able to cut the greeting into pieces and get it to follow the line of the central oval piece.  It's a little hard to see but the 80 also has some distress stickles applied to it.
