Scrappy Hollow April Class

This week is the last week of my classes at Scrappy Hollow.

I would really like to thank everyone who has supported my paper crafting journey by attending my classes or purchasing a kit over the three years I have been teaching at the store.  My decision to leave has not been an easy one and I know I will miss all of the lovely friends I have made along the way and hope we stay in touch through Facebook and this blog.  I hope to return to participating in my favourite card challenges and share my paper crafting adventure further with you after a short break.

So..... here is what we made this month!

The papers were from the Prima Delight collection and we used the 6x6 paper pads.  As usual we played with some of the awesome My Favorite Things die-namics:

  1. Treat Pocket
  2. Mini Tag from Blueprints 6
  3. Border from Blueprints 8
  4. Tag You’re It
  5. Gift Card Pocket
  6. Tattered Hearts
  7. Layered Treat Tag
  8. Mini Heart Border
  9. MPD Butterflies
  10. Leafy Flourish
  11. Love greetings
We also used some walnut ink to transform vellum, a bulldog clip to make a free standing tag pocket, an embossed glassine bag and a Cottage Cut die cut treat pocket.  All of the items made fit neatly into the shabby but chic co-ordinating gift box.

There is a new teacher taking over my classes at Scrappy Hollow - Maree.  I wish her all the best and hope she enjoys the journey ahead and the fun times to be had teaching such a lovely group of ladies.

Thank you all so much and stay tuned I will be back playing with paper some day soon!

Scrappy Hollow Classes for February and March

I have had a fun filled and very busy week at Scrappy Hollow as my 2014 classes started back this week.

It was so nice to welcome back some of the ladies who have been coming to classes for a few years now and to also meet and welcome some new ladies to the classes and the world of card making.

Here is what we made in our February class:

The cards were inspired by love as February is the month of love.  We used some of MFT's dies to create the elements on the card - MFT Stitched Heart, Dainty Bows, Peek-a-boo Trio, Fluttering Hearts, Insta Frame and the border from Blueprints 6.  The Papers were from Crate Paper - Maggie Holmes Flea Market.

Next month we are playing with Kaisercrafts Confetti and of course some more dies.  This time our theme will be Feathers and Chevrons and we will make feathers from washi tape, paper and dies.  Play with different ways of using chevrons and may even sneak in some distressing.  I am so overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude as my classes are quickly filling up this year and I am proud to say March is completely sold out!!  Thank you for your support everyone!!

Here is a sneak peek of what we will be making in March.  I have samples on display in the store.

Mojo Monday 321 - Round or Square?

Just wanted to share a card I created for the latest Mojo Monday Challenge - no 321.  It's always round or square week the last week of the month with the Mojo Team and of course I had no difficulty in choosing to go round.  Just love making round cards as I think I may have said a few times already.

So here is the sketch from the inspirational Julee Tilman

And here is the card I created

The base of the card was created with a Spellbinders Grand Nestablity Scallop Circle die and I used some cream Bazzil cardstock.

The rest of the card was created using one of my favourite Christmas 6x6 paper pads - MME Be Merry.

For the central strips I decided to use fishtail banners and then I toped this off with a wreath to add the circular element.

The wreath was created using MFT stamps Winter Wreath Die-namics die which I cut twice out of two shades of taupe cardstock.  I then topped it with a bow, buttons and leaves.  The leaves were made by dissecting a punched Marth Stewart Glacial Snowflake.  The tips of the snowflake were the perfect size to team up with the miniature buttons.

The greeting was cut using the MFT Stamps Notched Tag die-namics die (one of my favs) and the Merry Christmas greeting was a sticker.

All the pieces were inked using Tim Holtz Tea Die distress ink - my all time go to fav product to tie project pieces together.

I had so much fun playing along with the sketch challenge.  Thanks to the Mojo DT for their inspirations and to all the other cardies who play along too.  Thanks also to you for stopping by!

Getting My Mojo Back

Although the last few weeks have been very busy this week has seen me find a little more spare time to just play and what better way to play than with my favourite challenge blog as inspiration - Mojo Monday!

I love this weeks inspirational sketch by the talented Julee Tilman - here it is!

And this is my card creation:

As you can see I have flipped the sketch.  My circular element was created with one of my favourite dies from MFT Stamps - their die-namics Dainty Doily.

Papers were from the MME Collectable "Unforgettable" collection and I also used Kaisercraft card in ivory.

I have really enjoyed playing along with the sketch challenge again!  Thanks to the Mojo Monday DT for their inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!
