New Year Mojo with MOJO274

Hello and welcome to my first post for the year!  Happy New Year to you all and may 2013 bring you all good health and happiness.

To kick off the new year I decided to play along with my absolute favourite sketch challenge blog - Mojo Monday.  I just love the sketches they inspire us with and MOJO 274 just happened to be round or square.  So here is the sketch:

And this is my card:

One of the privileges of being part of the Aussie Scrap Source DT is that I get to select and play with some absolutely divine papers and embellishments.  The Basic Grey Lucille Collection is one range I have been designing with and loving.  I have produced a Retailer Class with this collection and just had to use up some of the remaining papers for this card.

This birds eye view shows the hand pieced border of the card which I created with an MFT die.  I attached them to the back of the card front and then covered that with another circle on the back to keep everything secure and looking neat.

This card is for an 80th Birthday so I added an extra tag to the seam binding bow. I have added some hand stitching using vintage thread around the main circular piece of the card.

The flowers and butterflies were made with the co-ordinating papers from the collection.  I love the colour palette - so different from what I usually fall in love with.

Materials:

Paper - Basic Grey Lucille
Dies - MFT Rounded Banner, Dog Tag, Royal Rose and Mini Royal Roses and Spellbinders Lacey Circles
Punches - Martha Stewart branch and frond
Other - Prima button, Pebble Inc Rub On, seam binding, Kaisercraft pearls,  vintage sewing thread.

So thanks for stopping by!

Aussie Scrap Souce Creativity

Just wanted to drop by and share some of my creations that have posted on the Aussie Scrap Source Blog this week.

First up I had loads of fun creating some special Christmas cards using the My Minds Eye - All is Bright range.  Love the traditional feel and alternative colour combination of the collection.

Here is what I created and you can see the full post here

The second post was a Weekend Inspiration featuring Pebbles Inc's Walnut Grove.  Such a fun and colourful collection to play with!  Here is what I created and the full post can be viewed here

Thanks for dropping by!
