CR84FN52 Colour Challenge

This weekend has been another busy one but I have managed to squeeze in some creative time.  Inspired by the talented ladies over at CR84FN and their latest colour challenge I have made another card for my collection of 80th's that I making for a friend's mum.

So here is the colour inspiration:

In keeping with the request I have created another card that has a different fold to the straight up folds I often use on my cards.  This one is an altered gate fold.

I have left the ribbon on the front long so that it can be tied again easily after it has been written on and then the ends can be trimmed to the desired length.

The papers used were from Cosmo Cricket - Tea for Two and I also used Bazzil cardstock, MFT die-namics, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Punch Bunch leaf punches, Doodlebug "Happy Birthday" sticker and Green Tara flower buds.

Here are some close up's of the different embellished sections of the card.  I loved making the mini rolled roses from matching cardstock and combining them with the punched leaves and pre made buds to finish off the front of the card.

Got My Mojo Back - Mojo 238

Hello and thanks for waiting for me to get back into my card making after the paper show, holidays and a week of teaching.  As you can imagine I was so excited to get back into my studio and start creating again. My first stop for a challenge was Mojo Monday and Sketch 238.  This would have to be one of my favoutite blogs to follow.  I have so missed playing along.  This weeks sketch was designed by Mary Fish from the design team.  Thanks for the inspiration Mary!  Here is the sketch:

My take on the sketch is a little different this time round.  A friend's mum has asked me to make her some 80th birthday cards that have a special fold or feature so I have created a pocket card.  The sketch was used as inspiration to decorate the front of the pocket.  Here is my card:

The papers were some favourites from my stash.  I love the little rosebud print and the background looked a little like fabric which I also thought worked well with the distressed checked background.  Of course I added an oval doily from MFT and some seam binding.  Instead of the tag coming off the central embellishment, like in the Mojo sketch, I used a second doily to create a tag section on the insert card.

I had loads of fun adding some Kaisercraft mini paper blooms and pearl flourishes.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned as I am off to create another card!!!!

I am BACK!!!!

Hello to all my friends and followers.  Sorry it has been a long time between posts but with Paperific show commitments, Easter holidays and a busy week of classes I have not been my usual creative self.  But that's all about to change and I will be back in the swing of card challenges and posting some of my newer creations next week.

Earlier this week I had a fantastic time teaching my April cards class at Scrappy Hollow.  Here is what we created:

A card, and card from an envelope and a gift box.  All perfect for Mother's Day.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back posting soon!
