Mother's Day and the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Well I am back!  They often say the hardest decision is often one that sets you free and that seems to be true for me.  Finishing teaching classes was not an easy decision and yet this week I found a new sense of freedom as I played in the craft room and could create something with whatever materials I wanted to play with.

Inspired by the talented and lovely Bec at Scrappy Hollow and her recent explosion box creations (you can visit her blog - Scrap Fruition - here) and some images from pinterest I set out to create one of my own.  An explosion purse!

I also drew some inspiration from one of the MFT DT girls who has her own challenge running on her blog.  I love Karens work on the MFT DT and thought it would be fun to play along. Karens Blog is called The Sweetest Thing and you can visit it here.

This is her challenge for this week:

You can see the challenge post here.

So the front of the purse has part of the sketch incorporated into it and then the full sketch was used inside.

And here are some pics of the other panels inside.

The papers were from MME Lost and Found Two and BasicGrey Hopscotch and I teamed it up with some Kaisercraft Cardstock.

As usual I have used my MFT die-namics - just love them!  The doily was made using the High Tea Doily die. The flowers were the Royal Rolled Roses which I surrounded by leaves and fronds punched with my MS punches.  The tags were made from Well Worn Greetings and Sweet Stacks Label dies.  The vellum pocket was made using the LLD 3x4 insert it pocket die. Words were made using the Lots of Love, Happy Birthday and LLD Little Letters.

I also used some Ranger Picket Fence distress stickles to add some sparkle to the words 'love' and 'Mothers'.

I had so much fun making this little purse so I cant wait to give it to my mum!

Thanks for stopping by!
