Mojo 225

The Mojo sketch this week was so much fun!  The sketch challenged us to use blocking on our card and it was interesting to see what people chose to put in each block.  Here is the sketch:

For my take on the sketch I decided to keep my detail for the centre of the design and just incorporated patterned paper into the blocks.  The paper was from Kaisercraft's Miss Nelly Collection and the label and rolled roses were made using MFT Die-namics and as usual I just had to add some seam binding.  Here is my take on the sketch:

Mojo Happenings

I have been very busy over the last week or so, which has been great, but it has meant that my crafting pursuits have taken a bit of a back seat.  I love January as it's my month off card class designing and my closest friends are off on school holidays so I can catch up with them and head out to the movies, shopping, lunch etc etc.

I have been tracking this weeks posts for Mojo Monday's sketch 224 and the submissions so far are awesome.  I have also discovered a new and very talented card maker via the blog.........Paul Browning.  You can check out his blog here

Here is the Mojo Sketch 224

And here is my take on the sketch:

The papers are from Martha Stewart and of course I have teamed them up with my MFT die-namics and seam binding.

I have also spent a bit of time re-organising my scrap space.  First priority was to sort out my ribbons and trims.  Here is the new and colour coded ribbon draw! It's right beside my desk/workspace and I love that I can just open it and grab the ribbon or trim I need.  Before this they were tucked away in the cupboard in a huge mess as I had just kept throwing them into a basket.

The Mojo Continues

Thank you to everyone who checked out my Mojo entry last week.  It was great to see so many people enter their creations.  Congrats to the finalists and winners - the cards were stunning!

Well another week and another Mojo sketch.  Here is this weeks sketch:

For my card this week I also decided to combine the MFT January Design Team Challenge theme with the sketch.  At MFT they were issuing the challenge to their design team to create something masculine for the men in our lives.  So here is my card:

The papers used were from the MME Stella ans Rose collection.  They are my favourite "masculine" papers and I love the colour combinations.  I also teamed them up with a Kaisercraft piece from their timeless collection and some core-dinations cardstock.  I love embossing the core-dinations cardstock and them sanding it back to reveal the inner core colour.

I have also tried a new way of photographing my cards this week.  I still love the shabby background of the decking boards but wanted to try a more formal photo booth shot.  Let me know what you think.....I still need a little more practice I think!!!

Thank for stopping by and "Happy Scrappin"

New Year MOJO!

Happy New Year to you all.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and 2012 brings you all happiness and good health.

During 2011 I was always stopping by the MOJO Monday blog and absolutely loving the sketch they post each week.  So many talented card makers took part in the challenge each week and it was a great place to visit for inspiration.  I decided for 2012 I would like to join in the fun and play along too!  So without further ado here is my first MOJO challenge post for 2012.
